My name is Donna Martin and I have been teaching for 28 years with 24 of them being in Alabama Public Schools. I am a graduate of William Carey University in Hattiesburg, MS. I am married and have a seventeen year old daughter who is a junior at Baker High School and swims for the Baker Swim Team. I love animals and have two of my own, Lily (Sphynx cat), and Blossom, a Maltese Terrier that we adopted from a local animal shelter. A fun fact about me is I knew in third grade that I wanted to become a teacher and never changed my mind. A few of my favorite things are reading, traveling, and cooking when I am not teaching. I've recently completed my LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training which is an intense two year course endorsed by the state of Alabama in teaching the science of reading. I enjoy growing professionally and watching my students grow throughout the year.
